That may be the case if I say something verbally, but if I really want to make it clear, I will write it down.
And if it is a long message, I will likely mention many important things, but the most important part I will likely end with it so it is fresh in your mind. Or I can list it repeatedly ...to draw emphasis of its importance.
In Matthew, Chapter 11, Jesus said that among those born of women, there has been none greater than John the Baptist.
Romans 3:9 begins by saying that all of us are under the power of sin.
No one is righteous ...
No one understands ...
No one seeks God ...
No one does good ...
verse 23 says, "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ..."
Are all Three ...God, the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit ...are they all 'God'???
Is our salvation, the righteousness of His judgment and mercy, to allow us to be in Heaven with Him ...is that possible through Jesus??
And do you believe Jesus was sinless??
The previous verse says all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Who does not sin, nor come short of His glory?
I'd say ...only God.
And Jesus said that among those born of women, none is greater than John the Baptist.
So, when John the Baptist died, why was his death not sufficient to satisfy the qualification of our Righteous Judge, to grant us salvation ...since Jesus said none was greater than this John.
Jesus was born of a woman, but conceived by the Holy Spirit. Some people may say that would be half man and half God ...but that's not the way I view this. I see Jesus as fully human and fully God.
And Jesus, as John the Baptist himself said of Jesus ---and as listed in the Gospel of the Apostle John, Chapter 1, verse 30 ---John the Baptist said Jesus existed before he did. John the Baptist was clearly born here on earth before Jesus was ...but, the verse does not merely say 'born', it says 'existed'. And verse 34, John refers to Jesus as the Son of God. (not 'a' son, nor 'one of many' sons ...but, 'the' Son.)
And yes, that is capitalized (Son) ...yet, we believers are considered 'sons' of God, not capitalized. Now, I realize that a nonbeliever may argue about translations, and what liberties that were taken in translating, but for those who follow the Bible ...it is 'your' Bible that says this. So, don't expect me to jump through hoops to believe what you say is true ...when truly, the Bible which you claim as your authority says these things. And it is not just random, nor out of context ...it is plainly written, and written many times.
And why is it written the way it is written??
Because it is important ---and needs to be stressed, not stressing everyone's nerves to believe a narrative that suffices perhaps various agendas ---and oftentimes agendas that are not even clearly perceived.
What is clear, is that Jesus was crucified ...justifying a righteous decision that doesn't need to be justified or even understood, but is brought to us by One who does want us to understand.
Why???
Because He loves us.
